Thoughts keep flowing in my mind.. (",)..
I have another simple thing one can do for the Philippines..
Don't just feel for peoples unfortunate fate; don't just feel the compassion..
Do something about it. Work your feelings up.
I, for one have this habit of giving to the poor on the streets, be it mga natirang pagkain ko or yung tigpi-piso on my pocket. Small it may be and di na ko napapasalamatan usually, pero malaking bagay na yun sa kanila. You indirectly make them feel na somebody still cares for them.

SING, as in actually sing.
Sing the national anthem whenever it is played during programs and flag ceremonies.

Another simple thing that one can do for our country?
is to SHUT OUR MOUTHS UP if we don't have anything pleasant to disclose. Or let me add or rephrase that- be a EUPHEMISTIC individual.
Coat the negative things you'd want to say with pleasantry.
That's like hitting two birds with one stone: you said what's on your mind coolly and at the same time you hurt no one. :P

Practice optimism.
I think this is one will definitely stir peoples view upon the unlikely predicament the world is in now..
By this, I mean always looking on the brighter side of things..
Aside from the fact that optimism brings about a healthy physicality on people, a stress-free feeling and a well psychological being it makes the world a better place to live in because only the positive things are being focused upon.

Let's donate 1 peso to the government at least monthly. Today's population is more than 90 million which equals to 90 million pesos. What can 90 Million monthly do? It could pay off the country's debts and do even more if we make it a habit.

In my own little way, I help our country by keeping my litter inside my pocket, unplugged all unused electrical devices, support local tourism, be a student leader/follower and by doing my share as a good citizen and influencing my friends and family. Small things but collective in future.

One little yet very effective act that we can do for our nation is to PRAY. There is nothing that a sincere prayer, sealed with faith and action, could not do.

Sharing is the easiest way to show how important the person is.
Giving is the sign of letting that person to feel that he is important.

Sharing and giving is both important, if you learn to share what you have it is easy for you to give.

I totally agree.

Managers and supervisors are not mereley bosses. They are leaders. They are not only meant to manage or supervise their team members. They are also meant to provide proper training and empower them so that both the individual members and the organization wins. More than anyone else, they know better the strengths and values that their team have and that makes them the best persons to train their members.

A boss just bosses around. A leader influences others.

i did the same thing before in our school...our teacher was so busy doing something in our classroom...while outside we hear the national anthem playing, during a flag ceremony..i asked her if we too should stand... and she did ordered the class to stand up...

...collecting "7,107 Reasons to Love Pinas!", literally, 7107 different (big, small, and everything in between) reasons!

I'm not doing it alone though. What I do is I piece together other people's comments and suggestions, pretty much like what you're doing now. =)
